7-3 Cubs over the Giants, 7th inning, and they're looking for more. And yes...Samardzija is in line for the win. He's even helped his own cause with an RBI.

Let's see if the Cubs can hold the lead this time.

If Red Sox want to even have shot at playoffs, they need to go at least 70-42(.625) from here on out.

Unless something like a big collapse happens(specifically from a certain team from a city that's use to collapses), looks like 2 of Jays,Yankees,O's will be in playoffs.

Still lots of ball left to be played obviously, but in the past, usually the team in the AL East at the top by this time of the year stays there. Though there have been a couple of recent exceptions(05 O's,09 Jays)

You posted that after they got swept by the Blue Jays and scored 7 runs in 4 games.. I think we were all wondering what you were talking about.

Mets released Jose Valverde after that debacle today against Pittsburgh.

And I don't appreciate you not finishing your

The A's are a very polarizing team & your initial post could have been finished in 10 different ways. All depends on if you've come to terms that they are a good team or not. Many still believe they aren't for some reason.

At the end of a week long offensive slump and getting swept by the Jays while losing four straight, "crushing it" would have been one of the last ways I would have finished your thought. That's why I asked, I'm always curious to hear other opinions of Oakland.

When your team standards aren't being lived up to it really does make you cranky though doesn't it. Thanks for the response anyway.

Man, the Jays are killing people with their bats AND the defense.

Out of the teams I saw play today the Jays win the funkiest hat award. I think it would have been bad *** to go with a night/snow digital camo.

Ryu having quite the game right now in LA...

They're wearing the Canadian military camo color. That's why it's so different. I actually like it a lot more than the hat all the American teams have been wearing.

If Ryu ends up getting the perfecto, would this be the first time in history a team has pitched no hitters in consecutive days?

D'oh! I didn't realize they were all exactly the same patterns. Now it makes sense. They should allow teams to pick from a few different schemes and styles.

It's tough as a Reds fan to root for the perfect game, but this Reds team with general mediocrity combined with the increasing number of injuries, this year is over. Might as well root for history.
