Hammel and then Samardzija; may be Hammel and/or Samardzija's last start for the Cubbies. Looking forward to some of the guys coming up, hopefully soon.

Real important series for Jays. Lead over Yankees can be as high as 7.5 games or as low as 1.5 games.

I'm not sure which prospects you're thinking of, but I don't see any of the top guys coming up before August.

I would love to see Hammel dealt for a Feldman-type deal, then signed to a longer term deal in the offseason.

Another huge series for the Jays this week as mentioned. One thing that doesn't get much play outside of Toronto in regards to their recent scuffling is that this team has played A LOT of games consecutively. The schedule has been pretty brutal as they haven't had that many days off. As it happens today is a day off so hopefully that'll help recharge their batteries so to speak.

I won't comment on why that's a good thing because I don't want to jinx it,but for Jays fans,I'm sure you might be able to guess why it's a good thing given what has happened to their roster the past 2-3 years by this point in the season.

A big positive about it too.....It means more days off as they get later into the season which is obviously beneficial, especially if they're gonna be playing meaningful baseball in August/September.

Unlike teams such as Yankees and O's who have 3 less games played, meaning there'll be a few less days to rest later on in the season which hopefully hurts their team in the long run.

Braves have had internal discussions about moving Evan Gattis to left field and promoting Christian Bethancourt to serve as the everyday catcher. In that scenario, Justin Upton would shift to right field, Jason Heyward would slide over to center field and B.J. Upton would fall into a reserve role.

Also Orioles Matt Wieters To Undergo Tommy John Surgery. Estimated to be out 9 months.

We talked about this in the Braves thread…makes no sense at all. Your OF defense gets worse and Bethancourt can't hit. It's basically taking your poor hitter in CF and replacing him with a poor hitter at catcher.

Collateral damage from the War on Pitchers.

Seriously, that sucks for him. I know he was looking for a big contract extension after this season.

I feel like they have other issues to take care of........like figuring out what to do with Dan Uggla. The guy is basically just taking up a roster spot that could be given to someone else. They just need to cut bait and let him go somewhere else.

Giancarlo Stanton just hit an absolute laser over the right field fence. I mean laser.

I saw that, it was like a golf ball the way it just flew out of the park.

Chad Billingsley once again out for the season. Having surgery on his flexor tendon.

Papelbon blows his first save since April 5th. Had gone 15 straight saves until tonight.

Just horrible luck with that too, he didn't make a bad pitch the whole inning.
