Billy Beane has completely lost his mind in a good way though Cespedes isn't quite what he was in his rookie year it seems to me that he's the heart and soul of that clubhouse. I think I saw a stat somewhere where the A's have a pretty pedestrian record without Cespedes in the lineup though with the pitching staff they've got and the surrounding offensive players that shouldn't matter too much.

If Cespedes ends up staying long term in Boston I think I will cry tears of bitterness. I don't want that guy hitting bombs against my Blue Jays! Hopefully he'll end up being one of those guys who doesn't have the mental makeup to succeed in Bean Town :P


Gotta say though, in the short term Oakland is sitting pretty though if they don't make a deep run in the playoffs all this wheeling and dealing will be for naught.
