If the Cardinals get Hamels, I will not be happy, but they probably make the most sense in terms of contending and being able to afford it in prospects.

I really doubt Hamels is actually on the table anyway, the Phillies will shoot for the sun with any offers, who has the money and farm system? Don't say the Cardinals (Might not have the money either) they need a bat way more than a borderline ace and it will be cheaper.

I hope the Reds can add a bat before the deadline to help them make a run. With Votto being out for the foreseeable future (who knows if he'll even be healthy again this year) possibly a guy that can play first/LF. They badly need a backup SS/2B as well considering Ramon Santiago is awful but I doubt they get one.

I get the feeling they feel like they still have a good core and that this season is a write off due to injuries. I happen to agree with you though, this may have been an injury plagued season but it seems like one of those "rebuild a year early" type deals rather than waiting too late.

Or like the Red Sox say "helping the 2015 team", which isn't a bad philosophy.

If the Red Sox decide to shop relievers the Dodgers will be interested according to reports.

Hmm…I would love him in a Braves uniform at 3B instead of Chris Johnson, but I still haven't recovered from the last time the Rangers took us to the cleaners.

I'll take anybody that's not Dustin Ackley in LF.

Mariners are now in the fold for Ben Zobrist. They would try to acquire him to play either SS or RF. According to reports.
