The Pirates got a solid win tonight. The game got surprisingly chippy, with Cutch getting hit in the upper shoulder and Wilson retaliating next inning.

Yeah, the guy is having a Willie Mays-like peak in his age 21-23 seasons.

I actually remember arguing last October that Bryce Harper still projected to be the better player over the long run since a significant part of Trout's advantage (defense and base running) would hit the wall. While Trout has declined in both areas, he compensated for that by….becoming the best hitter in baseball.

This is why I can't stand that commercial with Harper being digitized in with the legends of the game, talking about how he's a legend to be.

.....Braves have jumped on the Marlins early. 5-0. Freddie 3-run bomb. Hopefully we can hold the lead. Shouldn't be losing 3 straight to Florida when the race with Washington is so damn tight.

With the trade of Chase Headley to the Yankees, the entire 25-man roster of the Padres has 29 HR's and 103 RBI's. Anthony Rizzo, who the Pads traded a few years ago to the Cubs, has 25 HR's all by himself.

With the trade of Chase Headley to the Yankees, the entire 25-man roster of the Padres has 29 HR's and 103 RBI's. Anthony Rizzo, who the Pads traded a few years ago to the Cubs, has 25 HR's all by himself.

I'm going to Friday's Braves/Padres game, the Braves better not ignite them like they did the Red Sox earlier this season.

It's crazy that despite all the struggles the Blue Jays have been going through they're only a half game out of Seattle for the 2nd wild card after tonight. It wasn't the prettiest win tonight but I'll take it! It was also nice to see Bautista have a game commensurate with his star power.

Oh and that Sanchez kid? He's got some good stuff!
