Kemp, Ethier, Crawford, and Beckett cleared revocable waivers today. Hanley Ramirez didn't though.Comment

Re: 7/28 - 8/10 Game Discussion Thread
He's a great athlete, but he's horrible when it comes to understanding situations and making smart baseball plays. He's just freakish enough where he rarely suffers because of it.
Anyway, got my tickets for Baez's MLB debut. I'm in the RF seats, so maybe he'll go oppo... or I can catch a Rizzo-bomb.Comment

Well, you should know I hate Hanley way more than I'd ever hate Puig. As for this particular situation, nah, I'd probably laugh if Puig took second. No excuse for any CF to be that damn lazy.
Pujols has earned the right to do such a thing without being called a punk *** for it, anyway.Comment

Quite a night in baseball tonight.
Price makes his debut against the Yankees, Javier Baez debuts for the Cubs, Felix Hernandez will try for 20 strikeouts against the Braves, a rematch of last year's World Series gets underway, and oh yeah, Angels/Dodgers again with Mike Trout facing Clayton Kershaw.Comment

Re: 7/28 - 8/10 Game Discussion Thread
Turns out McCutchen has a broken rib, so maybe it was because of the HBP. I don't see anyone breaking a rib swinging a bat.

But he was perfectly fine the entire game the next day until the 8th inning.
Edit: It's his 11th rib that has the damage and he was hit in the upper back so highly unlikely to be connected. Cutch is just bitter about the retaliation (justifiably).Comment

Re: 7/28 - 8/10 Game Discussion Thread
Baez's first at-bat is a strikeout.
Went up 2-0 and battled to stay alive though. I liked what I saw.
Also, Prado and McCann homered. AwwwwwwComment

Javier Baez's MLB at bat number one in the books. A strikeout on a Brett Anderson changeup after taking a 2-0 count and then fouling off some offspeed pitches.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Another interesting factoid, the Rockies have 5 lefties in their rotation and have started 20 straight games now with LHPs.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
