Don't see why the Cubs needed to go to Toronto if they planned on forfeiting the series. Getting swept by a 28-3 margin is a little ridiculous for an MLB club. Worrisome that today's performance came AFTER a Ricky Renteria team meeting. Well, it sure didn't help.

      Oh my goodness!

The Astros are actually doing the Jays a favor! This is crazy, it's almost as if the Jays are going through a Rays circa 2011 run.

Hey, allow me to have this optimism while it's there for the taking!

As for the Cubbies....Man they're making me look foolish with my idea of them perhaps being a darkhorse wildcard contender next season. SMH

Whoever finishes with the best record in the AL (likely the Angels) plays the wild card winner. Baltimore is almost certainly hosting the AL Central winner.

If I had to put money on it right now, I'd predict a Giants/Orioles World Series (SF in 5).

Although it's hard to pick against the Giants in an even year, I actually like the Nats to get over the hump this year. On paper, the Nats are great. Deep bullpen. For my money, the best rotation 1-5 in baseball. And an NL offense that produces almost like a decent AL offense. With Anthony Rendon emerging, they have 5 or 6 guys who really grind out ABs. Rafael Soriano is the wild card there. I think a Nats-Giants NLCS could be pretty epic. If the Nats face STL again, they might have to face down some demons though.

I really have no feel whatsoever for the AL this year. The Angels are hard to figure for a short series after losing Richards. The O's made a mistake by not picking up a good starter and I can't really see a rotation of Chen/Norris/Tillman holding up in the playoffs. The A's have major offensive troubles. Ditto Seattle. The Jays are hot, but I don't trust them. I dunno, if the Tigers get in, they have as good of a chance as anyone in the AL, but their bullpen reeks. I don't think the Royals can hit enough and Danny Duffy might be hurt. It's really a pick 'em.

I guess, I'd very feebly pick Detroit to lose to Washington in the World Series at this moment. 6 games.

Cards lost 3 of 4 to the Reds.

They almost had a deal for Lester, but it fell through. Also, not really concerned about the pitching, they've been lights out over the last month or so. IIRC Tillman has something like a 2.08 ERA since the break, Miggy has been dealing, and Chen has been good. Norris is the only one that concerns me.

Orioles are 4 back of the Angels, and Orioles did win the season series. A long shot as the Angels do not lose multiple games in a row but they could be caught by the Orioles.

Chris Young doubles in the 8th to break up Cobb's no hitter. Damn.

Giancarlo Stanton took a HBP in the face, literally in the middle of his face.

Well this went from a sad moment to a just weird moment. 2 HBPs and they are saying both swung at the pitch lmao.

I don't know what happened in this Marlins/Brewers game, but the umpires just botched everything.

Terrifying moment for Stanton though. I've never seen someone get hit with a pitch that square in the face
