Re: 9/22 - 9/28 Game Discussion Thread
Phil Hughes had his last start today. Needed 8 1/3 to activate a $500K bonus. Pitched lights out for 8 innings, but didn't come back after an hour rain delay.
Gardenhire is defiantly saying he's done for the season. Won't be allowed to pitch that 1/3 of an inning. Nice thanks for the only pitcher worth a damn in the starting rotation. He just posted the best season ever in terms of K/BB ratio for an ERA qualifying pitcher.Comment

Nah, don't think there was any kind of conspiracy. Hour long rain delay, one-run game. I think he sits any other time. He was for sure coming back out for the 9th without the delay though. Only on 96 pitches.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 09-24-2014, 10:29 PM.Comment

Kershaw was just showing off tonight. Pitched a gem, hit a triple and knocked in a run, and made a great defensive play that saved 2 runs.
What a great way to clinch the division title (and #2 seed).Last edited by Chip Douglass; 09-25-2014, 12:37 AM.I write things on the Internet.

This series was quite anticlimactic, I suppose. Energetic games but generally foregone conclusions.
No words for Kershaw. Really no words.Comment

That's 3 words, technically. I don't know how I feel about pitchers getting consideration for the MVP award. He definitely deserves the Cy Young again, he's been amazing this year. Too bad he was hurt the first month, it would've been fun to see his numbers in a full season.Comment
