Re: What happened to Jason Giambi?
The same kind of thing has been happening to Delgado in Toronto. He's had a few GREAT years but now he's starting to get bogged down by injuries and hasn't been the same hitter he was a couple years ago. Last year Delgado had a nice bounceback year but this year he hasn't been producing at all while battling knee pains.
So I guess that means he won't be in Yankee Pinstripes.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: What happened to Jason Giambi?
Yea, many were expecting with his lost weight that he would bounce back and hit for pretty good average again. His swing looked much better in spring training, so I don't know. Hopefully it's just a major slump.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

I'm hoping it's just a big slump but, I thought he was ready to come out of it the other day against the dodgers he had like 3 hits and that home run off Gagne and since that game I don't even know if he has gotten a hit. Since he has come to the Yankees he stopped using the whole field and now every team put that shift on him. I wish once in a while he could put one down the 3rd baseline so it forces them to ditch the shift.Yankees

Re: What happened to Jason Giambi?
He did bat .314 with 41 homers and 122 RBIs in his first year with the Yankees, so he did show he could play in NY. Those numbers were actually a dropoff of what he did in Oakland, but I'm sure Yankee fans would be satisfied with him if he had maintained that production.Comment

Re: What happened to Jason Giambi?
When Giambi was in Oakland he played with much more intensity and purpose-- the A's success had so much to do with him while the TOP 3 were maturing. Now he's completely overpayed and playing for a team that doesn't need him to win. His spirit isn't in the game. Add to that the injuries and you have a serious has-been. He's pretty lame, and deservedly so for selling out.Comment
