Nice game by the Phils tonight, Mets played them tough though. It was nice to see them jump on Glavine early. If it wasn't for Floyd, it would have been a little easier. Gotta tip your hat to Glavine, at the beginning it looked like he wouldn't have made it out of the 2nd, but ended up giving 7 innings. Good move to save the pen for the rest of the series.

Abbott really hurt us tonight. I still think Powell is the better of the 2 "5th starters" and hopefully he'll get a chance the next time around. Bullpen was outstanding again, I think they are finally rested.

Position battles tell you nothing, even though they are wrong. Polanco with his 15 (wow!) RBIs in 200 at bats, cannot dream to see the day he is better then Jose Reyes. No way, Randy Wolf is better then Albert Leiter...look at stats. Leiter has been great since coming off injury. He's gotten no run support, but has an ERA of 2.12. If you want to strictly look at this year, Mets bullpen has outperformed Phillies with Braden Looper being a better closer then Billy Wagner. Obviously Phillies bullpen should be better, but this year they haven't been. I don't care how many homers Thome hits, he isn't more dangerous then Michael Piazza. Anyways, like I said, player versus player doesn't matter. The only thing that does is that the Mets have won 4 out of 5 against Phillies this year, and the city of Philadelphia breeds chokers.
