Are the Braves the team to beat in the NL?
With many good teams in the NL this year such as St Louis, LA, Chicago, San Fransisco, etc. The Braves are slowly emerging as one of the top teams once again. Winning 23 out there last 30 games, with 4 of those losses by 1 run or less, the Braves have moved from 4th place in the division to comfortably leading the National League East by 4.5 games. What do you guys think? And who do you believe is the team to beat in the NL come playoff time.Tags: None -
Re: Are the Braves the team to beat in the NL?
I'd love to say yes, but I have to be honest. Right now, the Cardinals are the class of the NL.
If the Braves make a couple moves (LH reliever, LH 1B/OF with some pop), I might change my answer. But as of today, the Cardinals are top-to-bottom, the best team in the league. -

Yes, the Braves are always the team to beat in the NL as the Yankees are always the team to beat in the AL. other teams may have better records, but come playoff time. U've got to go through Atlanta and New York.
and i honestly feel, this is the Braves best team to handle the playoffs, cuz their NOT the favorite, no pressure, they're not supposed to win the NL East, the Phillies are, they're not supposed to be in wild car contention, the Marlins are.
they have THE BEST closer in the NL (Insert Dodger fan speack below), they have the BEST 2B in the NL (Marcus Giles), the best CF (Andruw Jones), and if Chipper wakes up come playoff time instead of usually goin to sleep then, teams are in for a surprise, especially the way Drew is hitting.
The Braves are the team to beat in the NL until there is a reason they shouldn't beProud Graduate of North Carolina A&T

And those N.L. teams have gone through Atlanta and been successfull, in the past four seasons the Braves have been knocked out of the playoffs in the first round and, depending on who wins the wild card, if the Braves have to play the Cardinals in the first round will probably be knocked out again.
The Marlins, Mets and Phillies have all been active trying to improve there teams for the stretch run, the Braves, for financial reasons, will not be too active, if at all.
The Braves are not the same dominating team that we are used to seeing, the Cardinals, right now, are the team to beat.Comment

The Braves went to the NLCS in 2001 (got spanked by the D-backs, though).
Unfortunately, the Braves probably won't have the Astros to kick around in the playoffs this year.Comment
