    Four Team Blockbuster!

It's a four team deal, including Bos/ChC/Min/Mon. It would send Cabrera and Mientkawicz to Bos, A-Gon to Mon, Nomar to ChC, and Lowe to Min. Also, prospects would be involved(I remember hearing Francis Beltran), and possibly Clement.

Rosenthal just announced it on Sporting News Radio, he said it isn't official yet.

I'll get a link when I find it(or if someone else see one post it) so the exact details are known...

Wow that would certainly turn things around. I just can't picture Nomar in a Cubs uniform but i'm sure that he'll be much loved there. Cabrerra has been struggling a bit this season but I think with a pennant race and the possibility of going to the playoffs will get him back on track. It'll be a tough act to follow tho. Menky (i'm using a nickname LOL) would be a sturdy but not flashy 1B for the BoSox as well. Alex Gonzalez would join the rare Blue Jays and Expos club so that's interesting on it's own. I have a feeling that his K total would jump in Montreal tho. Sadly it looks like the Twinkies get the worst out of this deal.

Let's hope it happens tho as that would be a major shakeup and change the dynamic somewhat in MLB.

Look underneath the Nomar pic, Nomar in Chicago is confirmed. The rest isn't yet, but Rosenthal says it's just in the works of being approved/announced.

Also, Loaiza has been shipped to NYY for Contreras and maybe Proctor according to ESPNews(shocking, IMO).

Loaiza would choke in Yankee land. Just my opinion. The Yanks have a lot of starting pitching. I don't get why teams would just give the Yanks what they want.

Rosenthal is now saying that Dave Roberts is heading to the BoSox as well. I don't understand how this is tied in. He seems a bit iffy about the Minnesota/Lowe/Mientkawictz details, so I don't know if I believe it. He says Minnesota is working on something.

Shortstop Nomar Garciaparra is heading to the Cubs in a blockbuster trade that also involved Expos shortstop Orlando Cabrera.

The Expos originally sent Cabrera to the Cubs for shortstop Alex Gonzalez, third baseman Brendan Harris and Class AAA righthander Francis Beltran -- a trade that was the precursor to a four-team blockbuster that would send Garciaparra to the Cubs.

In other parts of the deal not yet confirmed, righthander Derek Lowe could be headed to the Twins.

If all parts of the deal go through, the Red Sox could end up with Cabrera and Twins first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz.

In addition, Dodgers outfielder Dave Roberts told Fox Sports Net that he has been traded to the Red Sox
