    Great point, Godgers12!

Imagine how high their .648 winning% will go when they start hitting .240!!!

      Chase Utley's line entering today: .124/.197/.221, .418 OPS, 7 wRC+.

32 pitchers in MLB have a higher wRC+ than Chase Utley.

More fun with statistics: There's as big a gap in wRC+ between the Dodgers and the Nationals (2nd in the NL in wRC+) as there is between the Nationals and the Phillies (last in the NL in wRC+). 31 point difference in both cases.

And this is despite Yasiel Puig missing the last month and letting Hanley Ramirez and Dee Gordon go.

        The offense has been unreal.

In roughly 15% as many plate appearances, too.

This is the risk you take with Beane's rinse and repeat style of GMing on a budget. It's one of the many reasons I'm an ex A's fan.

Dee Gordon has played in 33 games this season.
He has at least one base hit in 28 of those games.
He has at least two base hits in 18 of those games.
He has at least three base hits in 11 of those games.
He has at least four base hits in 3 of those games.
He has at least five base hits in 1 of those games.

Meh. Astros. Seen the homer/strikeout dance before. Better hope they don't go cold at the wrong time.

Braves really have to shore up the bullpen. I'm not confident in any of the guys in there.

I was just about to say this. You can add Zobrist to the list as well once he gets healthy. The Dodgers and A's have had discussions involving Kazmir as of 2 weeks ago.

I'm used to it and enjoy it actually. It's it for the faint of heart but keeps things interesting. It's better then just sitting around waiting for magic to happen like some (most?) clubs do. I understand it's not for everybody. That's what makes us that do stick through it so tight though. Hope you're enjoying your fandom elsewhere.

I knew there was somebody I was leaving out, hence the ellipses. Doolittle could be on the list too. Nobody is safe except maybe Gray.

I'd take Kazmir in Chicago. Maybe Clippard, too.

It many to be a top 5 offense, but after the last 5 years, this Brave's offense is amazing to watch as an Atlanta fan. Having all stats offensively be near top 10 and leading the majors in avg with RISP is awesome to see.

Give this team a bullpen and have the starters pitch how they normal have their careers, and maybe a wildcard game isn't a stretch. Right now though, the pitching needs to get a lot better still.

Yup...Atlanta was great in 2013 because they were connecting on those 3-run HRs and horrible in 2014 because we didn't. Gattis and Chris Carter I think are more liabilities than horses if they don't shore up their K totals.

I'll preach continually that putting the ball in play is a necessity; a strikeout is NOT the same as an out. People forget that for such a great slugger that Junior was, he didn't go over 100 Ks much.

Avilan is pitching better and I really do like Cody Martin...the rest of them? Expendable.

On a different topic, I think ATL should play MIA every day.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Gattis and Carter combined have only 13 of the Astros 56 homers. Let's not pretend they're the only ones hitting the ball out.
