Re: 2015 MLB Draft Thread
Thanks...definitely can hit the ball. MLB has him ranked#8 in the class. Has a 60 hit tool and 50 power. I like it even though we really didn't need an OF.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Draft Thread
Not gonna happen. Maikel Franco is with the big club now and isn't going anywhere. Will man the hot corner for years to come. He is our #3 prospect and is only 22. Playing very well on both ends of the ball too. Just a mind boggling pick in my opinion. Shortstop is the last position we need to draft from.
It's dumb to pick for a MLB need because it's too much of a crapshoot to know if these guys will really make it, and by the time they do the MLB roster could look very different.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Draft Thread
Phillies draft shortstop Cornelius Randolph with the 10th selection. Unless they plan on moving him to second base this pick makes no sense. J.P. Crawford is our #1 prospect and shortstop of the future. He was just moved up to AA 2 weeks ago too. Could be up as soon as late 2016-2017.
What we needed is a catcher, but no surprise Ruben Amaro doesn't draft what we need. Ugh.
If/When there's an actual problem(like 4-5 years from now), one of them can be moved to a different position. Nobody knows what the roster will look like then
No need to even worry about it now.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Draft Thread
could my dream of Kyle Funkhouser going to St Louis at 23 come true?
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: 2015 MLB Draft Thread
Braves 2nd pick (28th pick overall), Mike Soroka, seems like a reach to me...but then again this entire thing seems like a crap shoot,
What's up with Daz Cameron not getting picked yet? I thought he was a sure fire 1st rounder..."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Re: 2015 MLB Draft Thread
Some of the analysts were talking about it earlier.. it seems like what he's asking for his signing bonus shied some teams away. They thought if he went in the 1st, it would've been to the organizations that were picks 4-7. If he fell past there, he would fall out of the 1st.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Draft Thread
Now if only they can develop these guys and get them on main roster. They have been doing good job lately in their farm system, so hopefully it continues. Look at so many teams in sports who've been having consistent success past number of years(Hawks in NHL,Giants in MLB,Spurs in NBA and so on), they've done it mostly from developing their own players. That's what Jays should do, develop the farm system alot, and then fill the remaining holes with free agent signings and trades. 2013 proved they couldn't do it the reverse way(get those big players on the team first, and try to fill holes with the then depleted farm system)Comment
