Some guys can overreact, but when a hard object is thrown 90+ MPH near your head multiple times in the same game, you have the right to stand up for yourself. There's no place for that in the game.

KC isn't helping their reputation for being a bunch of headhunters.

Oh of course. I can't wait for one of these players to take their bats and beat the **** out of the opposing team one of these times.

Nice 3 game sweep we had of the Angels this weekend. Greinke and Kershaw dominated as usual and Mat Latos wasn't bad today. Andre had a nice game as well. The walk off was icing on the cake.

I'm going to try to give some perspective on this whole thing from the KC side. I'm not going to argue about who's wrong and who's right.

First, before people go calling our entire team a bunch of headhunters, it's really been Yordano Ventura and Edinson Volquez who have caused the most issues this season. Sure, Kelvin Herrera had the ball thrown behind Lawrie's head, but consistently it's been those two. The only other time other players have been in the middle of things is when they're drawn into the whole mess, i.e. Lorenzo Cain vs Jeff Samardzija.

What Ned Yost said was dumb, but he has a history of defending his players at any cost. This team loves playing for him because of that. He takes the burden for mistakes in press conferences, etc. This is a case of him taking it to the extreme, when he should have just said some bland generic comment and moved on.

Personally, I think Volquez hit Donaldson on purpose in the first inning. Apparently, they think he's been stealing signs or something like that. They also have been trying to pitch them inside because they hit anything out over the plate. Excuse? Sure, but it's somewhat believable.

I also think that the umpiring was incredibly poor and it never should have escalated to where it did. Like Matrix said, the beanball game is the dumbest part of the sport.

I love just about everything about this team. It's a shame that so many people throughout the country only take these incidents into account. I get it though, because if I was on the outside looking in, I'd probably have the same opinions. I do think the opinion that we're a bunch of headhunting thugs is way off base. It's really frustrating to me, because this last year of baseball has been the most fun I've had as a Royals fan in my life, but **** like this really keeps taking away from it all.

Donaldson was stealing signs in past game in the series. But whats wrong with that? If hes on 2nd and he can see the sign/what pitch the pitcher is setting up in his hand,its the pitchers own fault for making it obvious...

I saw Cole run into the scrum and immediately thought "get the hell out of there, we don't need you both out for the pennant race" .

I think batter hitting scuffle drama is easily my least favorite part of baseball. Just shut up. Each time it's the same damn thing.

Pitchers are the most insecure group of people in all of sports. "Oh, he looked at me wrong after that walk. Next good hitter up is getting one under the chin." Get over it.

And the Royals have gone from likable underdogs to utterly unlikable the fastest in sports history. What a bunch of *******s.
