Well, that's an amusing start to a ballgame.

Couldn't do enough research to get better lists, but here is the rarity/commonality of the no-hitter versus other single game feats. In the history of the game, there have been:
          • 306 cycles (14 natural cycles)
          • 292 no-hitters
          • 23 perfect games (13 lost on the 27th batter)
          • 16 four-homer games
          • 12 ten-RBI games
          • 3 twenty-strikeout games

Clemens has two 20-K games and Wood one, right?

That is correct. I could/should also add there have been nineteen 18-strikeout games.

Without researching it I believe the Ryan Express has at least one 19-K game as well.

Upon researching, Nolan Ryan had three 19-K games just in the 1974 season with California (in one of them he pitched thirteen innings). Ryan had 4 19-K games total. Others in the 19-K club are Steve Carlton, Tom Seaver, Luis Tiant, David Cone, and Randy Johnson (2x) excluding 1884 guys.

Not to mention Ryan's seven no hitters (and twelve 1-hitters).

Cubs jump on Peavy in the 1st with a 2-RBI single from Kris "RBI man" Bryant. He's up to 77 RBI to go with his 20 dingers. More importantly, I believe he's fully extricated himself from his ASB-slump.

I was nervous about that bend in slow-mo, I thought Duffy for sure did himself in.

Technically 24 perfect games. Pedro threw a pg through 9 innings but lost it in the 10th or something like that. #homer

Kyle Hendricks has been shaky lately. Walking 3 guys in the 1st inning is not his M.O. at all.

The Byrd walk was... I wouldn't say intentional, but he was pitching for him to chase, and if not would rather go against the rookie Tomlinson in that situation. Byrd was patient enough to lay off the changeup, though.

Hendricks has allowed 26 runs to score with two outs and runners in scoring position this year, tied with Harang for most in the NL (including the fielder's choice last inning).

Of course, the goals are much loftier than those numbers at this stage.

Part of Hendricks' trouble with it is that he has no strikeout pitch. He's not the guy who can reach back and blow somebody away and pitches to contact/the defense more than the average SP in 2015.

That's true, and so far I think that's their scouting report on him. You saw how Tomlinson fouled that one ball off to the right, letting the ball get deep. Aoki seemed to be timed to the fastball right as well, considering he hardly ever rips balls that way.

I think you'll see the Giants try to go the other way a lot today, but they might run into trouble when they get into the Cubs' bullpen.
