At this point in his career, Kershaw has won as many Cy Youngs and MVPs as Koufax, and Kershaw is just 27. Sure, Koufax career only went until he was 30, but by time Kershaw is 30, he'll have more Cy Youngs, maybe even more MVPs as well.

If his career ended today, Kershaw would surely be in the HOF from that career alone. But he could probably be in the majors for another 10 or so years,so who knows what else he might do.

Kershaw is indeed impressive and dominant...greatest Dodger pitcher ever?
Time will have to tell that one IMO.

Usually I pump the brakes with historical comparisons with players but for Trout and Kershaw? No way.

You can just *watch* and tell how great they are and how all-time their talents are.

I've got Kershaw behind Koufax still, but ahead of everyone else for the Dodgers: Hershiser, Valenzuela, Vance, Drysdale, and Sutton.

I'd love to see your list! I'd put him ahead of Newk, Vance, Drysdale, Sutton, John, Podres, Hershiser, Fernando, Dodger Pedro...all of those easily. I think he's as good as Koufax, but want to see him nail it on the big stage before I put him over a guy who dominated the World Series.

I'm not sure, that's why I said "almost without question". I think one can make the case that if Koufax's career wasn't cut short he'd be an even greater legend than he already is.

Guys like Kershaw and Trout are not just the best players in the game right now. They are era defining players who are above and beyond the other great players in a historically great period for young players in baseball.

I think it's sad that people find humor in other people getting hurt, no matter what the circumstances.

Kershaw induced 35 swinging strikes last night, which shattered the previous pitch fx era (2008-present) record of 30, which Kershaw co-held.

This is just my opinion...and a lot of it is because Kershaw is an unfinished product. For me....when a player is done...is when you can slot him in among others that have completed their careers and notched their place in history.
Too many times players have been "on his way to top.....Player(insert name here) only to be derailed by injury or a drop off in production. A-Rod...Griffey Jr....while both great players are not what people thought they would be when they were talked about in their prime and haven't surpassed the players they were being talked about with.

                          Koufax
Vance and Drysdale are still above Kershaw(IMO)
Sutton I would say as well right now...
Unless Kershaw falls off the cliff....he's past all the other Dodger greats....and if he continues even close to what he is doing now...he'll be the best(again...IMO)
