If the Mets hire Dykstra, it would prove that they've got the worst front office in baseball.

.....as if we needed more proof.

I don't think this will work at all. Dykstra has NO experience and it probably won't matter if he has an experienced coaching staff. I remember when Buck Martinez got the Jays job and he had one of the most experienced coaching staffs in all of baseball but he didn't last long.

It'll provide the Mets good PR for a while but when the team is floundering they're gonna be looking for blood.

I don't know why Valentine doesn't seem to be getting offers to manage. The guy may have some idiocyncrasies (sp) but he has a track record of winning.

Because Valentine will call it like he sees it and GMs don't like that. GMs want to feel all powerfull and ****. Bring back Bobby V!!! I think Bobby V would be good for Seo and Kaz because Bobby has managed over there too and knows what these guys are thinking.

One reason Valentine is not getting offers to manage is because he is managing in Japan.
The Mets have a good candidate in house already, hitting coach Don Baylor. I would like to see the Mets at least let him interview for the job. Willie Randolph, who finished his career as a Met and is a New York favorite will probably get a call as well, their are many who believe Randolph will make a good manager. Joe Maddon of the Angels is someone who a few teams are expected to want to talk to this winter, he has been mentioned with the Diamond Backs and Mariners, though it is unlikely the Angels will give Seattle permission to interview him.
