I'm sorry, but that people are lauding Papelbon is just idiotic. If not running out a popup is bad, how heinous and awful of a sin should choking a teammate be? You can't have it both ways...it can't be Harper handling himself poorly whereas his teammate is lionized for being a terribly douchey teammate that, remember, TRIED TO CHOKE OUT HIS TEAMMATE while a game was in progress. What planet are we on? This is loony and it's abundantly clear who the antagonist is here. Papelbon is garbage and enough already with this old-timey garbage-myth about running out every out like it's the last...not every player is Pete Rose and even Pete Rose didn't even do that. Good grief..

Gah, I'm tired of all this "choke" talk. Did anybody watch the video? As soon as he grabbed his throat, he moved his hand and grabbed his shirt. Yet, all these pictures got a half-second screengrab.

Should he have grabbed his throat? No...but I'd hardly call it choking as he could've been like Woody Hayes and held firm.

Look at the moments 0:37-0:38 (2nd video posted...tried to embed but MLB won't play it).

Toronto will have to wait until tomorrow to clinch with a doubleheader. However, that starts to mess with the rotation a bit. Stroman was probably going to start on Sunday but they'll likely need Hutchison. Hopefully Sunday's game means nothing for playoff seeding and Stroman can be rested up to start game 1/2 in the ALDS.

Ya,sucks it'll mess up rotation abit, but hopefully Sundays game means nothing. Hutchison could start if needed.

I actually wasn't calling any of you guys idiots, specifically. I was taking a position mainly against what C.J. Nitkowski (and his nebulous "inside sources") was saying, which was basically that everyone on the Nats was overjoyed that Papelbon put the big, mean, baddie baby Bryce Harper in his place. Look, people can dislike Harper for dogging it--and he was really dogging it--but it's hard for me to accept that escalating that to basically assaulting your teammate in your own dugout while a game is ongoing is a valid response to your teammate dogging it. That's where I get off the bus. Keep the dirty laundry in house or you're no better than Carlos Zambrano. Or, to put it this way, someone makes your order at a restaurant incorrectly, then do you march back into the kitchen and choke somebody (not a perfect analogy for sure)? Nope.

Perhaps I should've phrased it more clearly so I called the pro-Papelbon position idiotic rather than the people who hold that position (again, not specifically calling anyone out unless they identify with that position) idiotic. I forget how I put it exactly, but I apologize if it was too harshly stated.

Or maybe they can have Buehrle start so he can get his 200 innings and they can have a Johnny Full Staff game.

Buehrle is scheduled to start on Friday in Tampa. They'll need someone out of the rotation to start. Unless they really want to put Dickey or Stroman on 3 day's, which doesn't seem necessary at this point of the season.

Gibby said after Buehrle's last start that they'll use Buehrle on Sunday if it doesn't mean anything and he's still an inning or two short of 200.

Possibly 2 of them as the Cubs and Reds are also delayed.

Cubs and Reds underway in Cincy after a delay. Cubs promptly scored 4 in the top of the 1st.

Then Votto BUNTED with 2 strikes and FOULED OUT to end the 1st. LOL! Are you serious? Votto bunted? The guy's hitting like .460 this year.
