It's more the fact that it's only in play if it bounces out of play for a double. That's why I didn't find it funky. Because if get a ball to hit off the wall and bounces into the field stands that would also be a ground rule double, right?

Re: 9/14 - 10/4 Game Discussion Thread
Unfortunately for Jays fans I can see Kiermaier winning the Gold Glove and thus shutting Pillar out. Honestly, I wouldn't be too pissed off, both are quite deserving and I've seen plays where Pillar tries TOO hard and ends up missing the ball. It doesn't happen very often but happens enough that Kiermaier has the edge over him.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Only hope is that people voting get persuaded by seeing all Pillars highlight reel catches.Comment

Twins.....
Not like this game meant anything to them! 2 outs, grounder to pitcher, and throws horribly, 2-1 royals. New pitcher...walks batter. Next guy, grounder to SS,but he misses the ball,OF gets it,throws it in dugout,4-1 KC.Comment

Re: 9/14 - 10/4 Game Discussion Thread
Yep, which would just leave sorting out the Mets and Dodgers for who is the #2 and sorting out the Blue Jays and Royals for who is #1. I'm already figuring the Pirates will take at least one more from the Reds... but then again, Pittsburgh hasn't done much against the poor side of the NL.Comment
