I agree completely. I love Bogarts. He is great at the plate. He was tied with Altuve for most hits in the AL (194 a piece), is hitting over .320, which is second in the AL behind Miggy and 4th in the MLB behind Miggy, Harper, and Dee Gordon. Also 2nd in the MLB in hits, Gordon has 198. He isn't showing much power only 7 HR's, 34 doubles and a slugging % of .423. All at the age of 22/23 (and he just turned 23 yesterday actually). The only thing I don't like about him is his agent, Scott Boras.

And it's actually feasible for a change. Too often these three- and four-way tie scenarios are so out of reach.
If Texas clinches tonight, not unreasonable for LA to win 2 while Texas coasts. Houston is not the best road team, so dropping 2 is believable. And with the way KC has played the last month, the Twins are going to play them hard and winning 2 is not out of the question.
Not to mention, the Twins forcing a 3-way tie likely gives Toronto the league, so I wouldn't mind that one bit, and then getting the winner of that 3-way tie wildcard gauntlet? Fun!Comment

The WC stuff is more fun for regular season than it is for playoffs itself.
If we had only 1 WC right now, sure you'd have Pirates-Cubs race in the NL. But then you'd also have Yankees already clinching, and Rangers locking up AL West by tonight most likely. So Saturday and Sunday games could be meaningless for every team.
With 2WCs, we have it coming down to the final day or two in these races. Since they introduced 2WCs, haven't at least 1 of the 2 leagues races come down to the final weekend?
And going back to the Pirates-Cubs stuff. If we only had 1WC, people would be bringing up talk of how MLB should add more teams in it,cause a 95+ win team would be out of the playoffs yet again, meanwhile a team who might not even have 90 wins, will be in.Comment

Reds lead 2-0 in the 2nd on a Suarez HR.
Polanco saves a 3rd run from scoring by throwing out Sampson at first.
4-0 Reds, end of 3. The Buccos' inexplicable struggles against the Reds continue. Cubs about to get underway.
Brewers rookie Pena strikes out the side in the first, and here comes Arrieta.
Cutch goes deep for the Bucs first hit, 4-1.
1-0 Cubs on a pair of doubles by Russell and LaStella!Last edited by bcruise; 10-02-2015, 07:49 PM.Comment

Re: 9/14 - 10/4 Game Discussion Thread
Pirates have bases loaded nobody out in the 6th. Sampson departing.
Rizzo solo shot makes it 2-0 Cubs!
Cingrani walks in a run, 4-2 Reds.
And the Pirates tie it with an RBI groundout and 2 out single to center.
Cubs now lead 5-0 and it's unlikely Arrieta's going to need any more. Time to focus on PIT-CIN which is still tied in the 8th.Last edited by bcruise; 10-02-2015, 09:00 PM.Comment

Re: 9/14 - 10/4 Game Discussion Thread
Anybody surprised that Arrieta is shutting Milwaukee out through 6? Maddon probably gives him the 7th since he has a ridiculously low pitch count. I doubt he goes past that. Then some scoreboard watching.
If the Pirates lose tonight and the Cubs go 2-0 while the Pirates go 1-1 over last 2 games--that puts the Wild Card play-in at the Friendly Confines instead of PNC.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

As I say that, Aroldis warming up in the Reds pen with the game tied. Melancon already in.Last edited by bcruise; 10-02-2015, 09:19 PM.Comment

Re: 9/14 - 10/4 Game Discussion Thread
Kind of 2 seasons in a nutshell...
Earlier in the Cubs-Brewers game on a fly ball to right-center, Logan Schafer and Domingo Santana miscommunicated in the outfield and neither was able to catch the ball. The Cubs went on to score 2 runs.
Similar situation in the bottom of the 8th with Addison Russell drifting into left and Kris Bryant coming in. Another miscommunication, but Russell was able to catch the ball.

Mike Trout won the game in the 9th.
Huge play.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Just tuned in PIT-CIN...why is no one at PNC Park? lol...bad weather? You'd think this game was in Cincy by how few fans are at the game.
EDIT: Yeah, looks like it's raining.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Sucks a guy with so many highlight reel catches, and 2nd best defensive WAR of all outfielders in the entire MLB, won't be winning a gold glove due to the stupid rule by MLB.Comment
