There is NOT a more under appreciated star in MLB than Goldie.

Welp. Can't ask the Reds to actually beat a Major League team at this point I suppose. Too bad.
Now the Cubs must go 2-0 and the Pirates must go 0-2 or it's at PNC.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 9/14 - 10/4 Game Discussion Thread
Tropicana Field lol.
Jays player hit the ball so high, it hit one of the rings above. Then things got confusing. Ball bounced back on the field like 5 seconds later, and he got to 3rd after it all. Then they went to review for awhile, while commentators start explaining the rules of Tropicana lol.
It went something like "if it hit ring 1 or 2,the ball is still in play,if it hits ring 3,it's a home run".
The way the ball was hit, it was looking like a home run for sure. Though 5 minutes of review, and 30 seconds into the next batter...home run, so it made all this waiting and rule explaining completely useless.
They really got to get rid of Tropicana Field and have a new stadium. Special rules that only apply in a single stadium in the entire league cause of a horrible roof is stupid.Comment

I agree completely. I am wondering where he is going to land in MVP voting. He is doing great this year for a ****ty DBacks team. He is hitting .316 with 31 HR's over 100 RBIs, an OPS of .991, Slugging % of .559. I am going to say, he is the Best 1B in the league.Comment

By this logic they should also remove the ivy in Wrigley. Because there is a rule for that, and it only applies in Wrigley.Comment

In fact I'd bet almost every stadium has at least one, that's why they are called ground rules. They apply to those grounds.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

There is no funky rule about the ladder. From the MLB.com website: Fair ball striking the ladder below top of left field wall and bounding out of park: Two Bases. Anything else the ball is still in play.Comment

That's a funky rule. Is there a ladder on the wall in any other park?Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: 9/14 - 10/4 Game Discussion Thread
To be fair,I said cause of a horrible roof. Something like ivy walls has become synonymous with Wrigley. Ivy walls got clear cut rules. The roof in Tampa,it has diff rules depending on the ring it hits. And if a ball hits a certain ring,it could result in an out if the fielder catches it(so basically a ball that could be a home run,has all momentum killed due to the roof, and ends up being an out).
But changing gears...today was what could likely be the final start in the career of Mark Buehrle. He's about 2 innings away from getting 200 this season(making him just the 4th player ever to get 200IP in 15+ straight seasons). Jays likely giving him another start on Sunday(or at very least, come out of bullpen) just so he can reach that mark. Latroy Hawkins also probably gonna pitch on Sunday too since he's retiring at end of season. Ending his 21 year career. When he first played in the MLB,Kirby Puckett was a teammate of his.Last edited by Majingir; 10-02-2015, 11:19 PM.Comment

Kevin Kiermaier is rivaling Simba as the best defensive player in MLB. Obviously, it's subjective stats, but Kiermaier is miles ahead of everybody else in DSR and UZR.
