    Could Bonds Reach 800 HRs

It's fairly safe to say that he'll break Aaron's record, but it looks like he may be aiming for 800.

No. At his pace he'd hit that many in 2007, but he hasn't mentioned playing past 2006.

I have a HOPEFUL feeling that he won't go past 200 walks again, at least not because of so many intentional walks. I also think that he's only speeding up, not slowing down.

"Next year is really going to dictate what I do after the 2006 season," Bonds told MLB.com. "Even if I sign an extension, if I feel like it's time for me to move on after 2006, I'll know after the 2005 season. At that point, I'll let everybody know whether 2006 will be my last or whether I plan to move on to 2007."

He just said that last Thursday...

Interesting. The link I posted was to a story that had a quote similar to what was said in the post above mine. That's the only reason I mentioned 800 homers because I knew he'd have to play 3 more season.

Looks like they altered the story a bit.

Hmm... then I take back my post. If he goes on his pace of 35-40 home runs the next three years then yeah he has a chance to setting a record that will probably take years if A-Rod manages to get close to it.

I think Bonds has a great shot at 800 HRs tho I wish teams would stop being so scared to pitch to him. At some point you're going to have to pitch to the guy no matter what. I also think it depends on if the Giants improve in the seasons to come. I don't think Bonds will want to leave San Fran and finish his career in the AL.

If pitchers actually decide to pitch to him then yes, I think he can.
