    Re: AL MVP

    Miguel Tejada.

Dude, look at all his game-winning hits and HR's. Amazing.

I hate how people say A-Rod is the MVP, NOT EVEN CLOSE. The definition of MVP is whos most valuable, well, if A-Rod is most valuable, where the hell is his team? DEAD LAST. Player of the year?? Maybe. MVP??? NO

Soriano maybe, he's the mix of the amazing stats of A-Rod and the valuableness of Tejada. Without Soriano, the Yankees wouldve made the playoffs still, but Soriano helped them incredibly and made it way easier.

I am the only one that voted for Arod? What is wrong with you people?

            Re: AL MVP

I think it's because he is on a losing team... he had an incredible year, but would the Rangers have been lost without him? They might have finished another 10 games behind in the standings... to me, the MVP award should go to the guy that helped his team acheive victory the most. If the team doesn't win, then I don't think you can really look at a player from that team as the MVP. Everyone's opinion on that differs though.

I'd pick Tejada this season... after losing Giambi, everyone thought the A's were through. His play helped them on their 20 game with streak, which moved them past the Mariners and they never looked back. Take him out of that mix, though, and I don't think the A's would be where they are. Hence the MVP award.

Yah, I know the argument, but it is so hard to determine, who actually helped it's team win the most games. Was Tejeda good for 10 more wins than the average player, maybe only 5 , 20? I don't know, how does that compare to Arod.

AROD had a great year and he plays a position that requires a lot on the defensive side of the ball.

Yeah, I'm just glad I don't have a vote... wouldn't know how to decide between guys who've had such amazing years.

I know that when you look at guys like Andruw Jones, with the horrible year he had at the plate, that he won't get a single vote. His fielding probably saved at least 10 victories though... ESPN and other television reports don't like to look at defense too much though... home runs and rbi's are ratings to them.

They do like to show Jim Edmonds make fake diving catches though. Andruw is great in the field, being a Cub fan my interest has waned in the last couple of months. Hopefully the playoffs will grab my attention.

The playoffs this year should be amazing... I don't hold out much hope for my Braves in the face of their competition, but ya never know what can happen in October. October... the greatest month in sports, with March following in a close second.

Miggi is what us A's fans call Miguel Tejada. But MVP has been his nickname for the last month or so.

I think Alex Rodriguez should win it. I know that his team finished last, but it's very difficult to not give him MVP, considering that his numbers were far and away the best in the AL. Tejada should probably be a close 2nd in my opinion.

                          Rodriguez .300 avg., 57 HR, 142 RBI
                          Tejada .308, 34 HR, 131 RBI
                          Soriano .300, 39 HR, 102 RBI

                            and A-Rod
                            .300 BA

Not as great as people say.

Tejada deserves it because he was the most important to his team(The 2nd best AL team).

Soriano also leads the league in runs, is 3rd in doubles, 2nd in TB, 9th in slugging, and 14th in OPS, leading Tejada in all those categories
