D-Backs did not want to trade with us and they wanted to singlehandedly ruin our team by trying to acquire Linebrink and Otsuka... I say screw the D-Backs, I hope they suffer 35 straight losing seasons...

If Eaton can only get his head straight then we'd have a good pitchign staff... he's the only weak link in the staff outside of the revolving door on the fifth-slot of the rotation.
I agree about Eaton, but he's looked good as of late. And I'm of the opinion that these starts down the stretch (that actually mean something) will only do good for our big three over the coming seasons.

The possibility of the Dodgers hanging on to win the wildcard if they lose the division is remote considering how many teams are there with the Giants. Conceivably the winner of the west may have a worse record than the wildcard winner especially since Chicago and Houston have an easier go of it than the Dodgers (even though I dont think it will be the cakewalk some want to believe for the Cubs).

Well the interesting twist to all this is that the Cubs should actually be pulling for the Giants to defeat Houston. It would be great if SF can sweep Houston to put a little more distance between the Cubs and Astros - to clear the runway- then the Giants-Dodgers games will take care of the rest. This is assuming the Cubs dont have any pitfalls of course. Im kind of worried about the Mets series. They have been rolling over for everyone but I have a feeling they will make one last stand as the season is winding down. THey have good pitchers and a park where its hard to hit HRs which is bad news for a team like the Cubs who is too reliant on the HR.
