Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
Is not a matter of need but just how it is. Would it be better if one guy got every piece of information on any particular story so he could report it at once? Maybe. But it isn't that way, so as long as it isn't then it is better if proper credit is given.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Now that I think it, maybe those with the information actually distribute it piecemeal to keep all the insiders happy. All get a nugget of info to report.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

I used to think it was nonsense but I wonder if the Commissioner's office has had any (recent) discussion about forcing the Mets ownership out.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
I just did a quick look and it seems the Mets stopped spending big money after 2012. That pretty much coincides with the Wilpons being implicated with Madoff and having to pay a lot of money in lawyer fees and settlements. It is a little perplexing how we're a few years removed from that and they're still being tight with their money. While I don't think it warrants pushing them out of MLB I do think that TPTB should tap them on the shoulder and politely asked to spend a bit more.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
The Wilpons are trying to run the Mets like a business and would be fine adding at the deadline making a run and getting close. Last year is their blueprint. The problem comes in when they have to start paying their pitching staff. I would love to see the Wilpons gone but as long as they can turn a profit they ain't selling. Unless of course someone blows their doors off with an insane offer.Comment

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
I don't get that.
There were a ton of teams that threw money at players(Washington) that didn't even make the playoffs.
Who is to say who is right?

Re: 2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
Yea I'm with Knight on this one. Why would they force out the Wilpon's after the Mets just made the WS? While we're at it let's force out the owners of these teams as well:
Oakland (6)
Houston (10)
Tampa (11)
All have had lower end payrolls the last couple years and each team is a top 11 television market in the USA.Comment
