For one changing leagues means he won't be familiar with the pitchers which tend to favor them.

As for the parks, Great American Ballpark had a LHB park factor for HR's of 129 against Rogers Center' 110 (according to StatCorner, other sites agree on the premise). So he is moving to a more unfavorable environment to play his home games.

Yankees Stadium is great for lefties, but so is Miller Park. Fenway actually suppresses left handed HR's compared to league average.

I think he could hit a similar total to what he did last year but without a change in approach it is difficult to see how he would revert to being the hitter he was in 2011-2013.

Looks like the Bruce trade may be dead as within the past hour or so (why am I up so late?) there's been a snag with the medicals. There's speculation that it's either Saunders' effed up knee or one of the prospects.

If it's the prospect I wouldn't be surprised if they find another piece to get the deal done. If it's Saunders, then it's dead. It's been strange as hell what happened with Saunders after tripping on the sprinkler head last st.

-Initially Saunders was supposed to be out until the all-star break with a torn meniscus.

-Then Saunders had the meniscus removed and was supposed to be back in like four weeks instead

-Saunders comes back at some point in late May I want to say, and plays 9 games while looking like he's on a broken leg.

-Saunders is shut down for the year

Is that typical with a torn meniscus? I mean, it's a different position and body, but Marcus Stroman blew his ACL out at the same time and was a force in September and the playoffs.

EDIT: Apparently the medical concern was a Jays prospect.

I'm talking about the first extension he signed which was right around the time he got called up IIRC.

Looks like problem was with a jays prospect. So why are Angels in this deal exactly lol. Nobody they're rumored to be giving up yet, but jays dealing Saunders+prospect(s?)

And when you leave him off playoff roster, he'll act like he contributed when you do win the WS.

                        Like this:

"There’s a lot of sabermetrics, there’s a lot of numbers and stuff. The whole WAR stat. But when you go to playoffs, you want me to go to war with." Gomes hit just .143 this postseason, even going hitless in the first three games of the World Series.

Looks like Cliff Lee is choosing to not play this year over taking less money cause teams don't know if he's healthy. He wants 6-8M.

Amount isn't alot, but uncertainty of his health is. Im sure teams prob made offers, but the biggest deals probably had conditions on it, like him pitching certain number of innings. And if he'd rather sit out over taking a deal with condition, makes me think maybe he's not as healthy as his agent is letting on.

According to TSN's Rick Westhead Bautista's contract demand is 5 years 150 mil.

Yep....Thanks for the memories Joey Bats.

Lol, so basically his hometown discount comment means he wants a new deal now that makes up for all the money he should've earned had he not signed a long term deal his last contract.

I guess 2017 OF will be Pillar,Pompey and Saunders or Bruce.
