2015 MLB Hot Stove thread
You can only pick from who is available in free agency. Money is not an issue for Red Sox ownership. Better to overpay David Price than to trade a Betts for a one or two year rental. Sox had a need and Price fit that need. With no salary cap some teams are afforded the luxury to make a signing like this. Only issue would be if Price decided to opt out after year three and Sox pony up more money to re-sign him. Now that would be stupid.Comment

Wow that is a lot of cake for Price. I'm even happier with the trade to Toronto now.
The player opt out is becoming more and more common.
Pony up more money to resign him you say? Just like the Yanks and CC, and maybe the Dodgers and Greinke.Comment

Well the Trumbo deal is trade number 75,688 by DiPoto since he got to Seattle. This guy...Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Curious as to who plays 1B in Seattle now? Give Montero an everyday chance? Move Cano to 1B? Try and acquire a guy like Chris Carter? or other?Comment

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Up until the last week or so, who knew the Red Sox were going to offer him that LOLworthy contract? Certainly not me.
In any event, I'm just glad he's not a Yankee, even though there was a 0% chance of that ever happening anyway.Comment

I seem to recall plenty of people saying that and not just Cubs fans either.

The Red Sox and Price rumors started a few weeks ago. A lot of people didn't take it seriously.Comment
