And honestly, I'm more worried about the Astros now than the Giants. The Giants and Dodgers are going to beat the crap out of each other 3 more times (not including today's game) and the Cubs will probably split with Cincinnati and lose 2 of 3 to the Braves. The Astros have a good chance at it if they can win the series against the Cards (which will be tough). But as for the Cubs...if they do make the wild card, they'll be lucky to win one game against the Giants/Dodgers or the Braves.
you need to relax man - youre acting as if the Cubs play in Boston - the cubs are expected to lose, and blow it - so what else is new?....they have a legit chance to make the playoffs this year again which has not happened since i dont know how long probably 30 or so years...maybe longer...so just relax and enjoy and hopefully the cubs mae it but if not its not the end of the world.

I agree with you about the Astros. To be honest I was telling many I work with I had a bad feeling about the Mets series. The Mets have good pitching and a stadium where its difficult to hit HRs (like the one in Montreal) and this is not conducive to the Cubs who are too reliant on the HR. I was somewhat hopeful since they generated runs in the last game before the Mets series but, yeah, the Cubs reverted back to the form they displayed vs the Expos. One thing too is I wouldnt rule out SD making a charge. I think they are only 2 behind the Gents and could leapfrog them with a sweep. But yeah, the Astros are the team Im most concerned with.

C'mon man they're 14-6 in thier last 20 games, the pitching is coming together finally. If they get in, they should do well in post season. You think anyone wants to face Zambrano, Maddux, and Prior in a 5 game series?

If the Cubs get in I like their chances just fine.

And this is the type of post you commonly see from people who learn everything from the national media. Let me guess what you have seen recently that perpetuates what you are describing....hmmmm....would it have been that "Which Curse is Worse" show on ESPN?

OK, but what about the bullpen, its very Jekyl and Hyde? Maddux historically has fallen short in the post season. IN fact, Im a little worried about him getting hit hard today. Prior and Wood have both been eratic. Maybe Prior has gotten past his problems since he has finally had solid back to back outings but it still remains to be seen whether he has his legs under him finally.

Sorry if I'm going a bit overboard, lol but I'm as passionate of a fan as anyone can get. And with no disrespect, in other words, I'm not trying to start an argument but I don't see how Boston fans can think that they have it worse than Cub fans. At least you guys have seen a world series in the past 25 years! The Cubs have not made it since 1945 and as we all know have not won since 1908! And yes, the Cubs do choke, I don't think its a curse (although last year made the think twice).

As for the playoff/wild-card run. I just don't like how inconsistent the Cubs bats are. They killed the Reds yesterday but today they may get one solo home run.

Wow. Another blown save by LaTroy Hawkins. He had an 0-2 count on Kearns too.

I wonder if they'll be able to pull this one out.

0-2 and what does Hawk do. Slider low and away, no, curveball, no, outside fastball, no. Tries to blow one past hime. What a moron! Hawkins sucks! I'm SO pissed at the Cubs this year. Oh well there's always next year to do the same thing we've done for nearly 100 years! LOL. Go Red Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
