I'm biased towards my Red Sox nation. The thing that makes you truely appreciate how good Sox fans are is when you travel to away games. I went to Toronto and Baltimore this past year and the amount of Red Sox fans was staggering. I also went to Atlanta a few years ago and it was the same thing. That may have been magnified by how pathetic the Braves fans were though. They were like robots programmed to cheer when the scoreboards told them to.

Man Odalis Perez just melted down after that Walker HR. I guess he doesn't have the stuff for that kind of pressure. I have to agree with Fsquid about the St. Louis fans. They're probably one of, if not the smartest most passionate fans in all of baseball. You gotta love the tradition of making guys making curtain calls after big HRs.

STL baseball fans are widely known to be great fans for many years now. Everytime a player goes to STL for the first time, they rave about the fans (Larry Walker this year for example).

The best thing about them is that they know the game. They know what's going on, when a team should suicide squeeze, when to hit and run etc... It's refreshing to see since at so many ballparks all you see is fans on cell phones for 3/4 of the game.

I hate being at work during the game. All the streaming audio feeds online are overloaded so Im stuck with sportsline/gameday etc.

Oh, but my Cards are up 6-0 going into the bottom of the 4th. Hope they keep this up for Thursday as I have tickets.

Thats my one complaint about going to games at Fenway this year. Its gotten so bad they have ushers behind the plate whos job is to tell people to get off the phone during play. The Red Sox bandwagon is overflowing this year and it shows with some of the idiots who show up at the ballpark.

This took a real hit during the McGwire years as a lot of new fans started going to games to see the long ball, but it has gotten a lot better now as the fans are more concerned with winning then with seeing a home run.

                            7-0 Cards!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: I meant the knowledge of the fan base.
