Why do teams play games under protest when nothing will happen. I mean it's kinda pointless when the higher ups at MLB won't/can't change the result....Oh well.

I don't understand the point as well. I've never seen a protest upheld and question why Cox even bothered. HOU claimed the bullpen phones weren't working and Cox protested that. How does Bobby know they were lying?

The second part is if the game ends, what's MLB going to do? State that the protest is upheld and the game needs to be replayed? I don't think so. I wonder if a protested game has ever been upheld?
