    Vlad is awesome, unfortunately a walkoff 2 run HR sends the Sox to the ALCS.

    Angels = SWEPT.

        Great game last night, sucks that somebody had to lose.

        I thought the game was well over when the Angels fell apart that one inning, and allowed the score to increase to 5-1. Vladdy came up huge for his team, but David Ortiz showed why he's an MVP candidate.

        Great series for the Sox, hopefully, they can keep this going in the ALCS. Bring on the Yankees!

        Now - the Braves travel to Houston to take on the Astros who have won 18 straight at home. Sure, it'll be tough, but I'm thinkin` that the momentum will be on Atlanta's side after the big win two nights ago. Furcal for president.

            John Thomson vs Brandon Backe at 1:00 PM

            Thomson is making his first career postseason start, but he has been on a roll lately. He pitched well earlier in the year at Houston in a win for the Braves, and hopefully he can repeat the performance.

            I've only seen Backe pitch once, but know he is an excellent athlete and what he is capable of from scouting reports. He can change speeds well, but can struggle with control at times.

            Also - it'll be interesting to see how Carlos Beltran rebounds after the horrid game he had in Game 2. His ribcage was SURE to be bothering him, after taking a pitch to the mid-section in Game 1, and struggled mightily at the plate, going 0-5. Hopefully the Braves can keep him off the basepaths, as he is the focal point of the 'Stros running attack.

                Well, Thomson is out w/ his oblique acting up. Byrd came in, shut down the 'Stros in their half of the first. (Definitely caught a break when the ball hit Bagwell when he was stealing 2nd)

                Man - I wish pitchers could hit. Another inning where the Braves leave the bases juiced.

                        Hats off to the two young guys making their first postseason starts and pitching well enough for a win, Bronson Arroyo and Brandon Backe. The Sox right now are about as confident with Arroyo on the mound as they are when Pedro and Schilling take the hill and the 'Stros confidense in Backe seems to grow with every pitch.

                            Man, good game by the Astros today.

                            It hurt when Thomson went down, and then Byrd started struggling. My hat goes off to the Houston offense, they can seriously knock the cover off the ball. The Killer B's; Beltran, Bagwell, Berkman, and Biggio, and Jeff Kent are lethal. The Braves offense didn't look too terribly bad today, but again, they didn't come through when it mattered the most. It's good to see that Andruw is hitting well, but Chipper and JD are really struggling to find their strokes, which is hurting tons right now.

                            Can't wait for Game 4 tomorrow.

                                LA is really taking it to STL right now. Lima has also looked very good (although I'm not a fan of his).

                                Everytime I see Matt Morris pitch anymore, I wonder what happened to the guy who used to be good!! He's been really inconsistent lately.
