Sheffield had a reputation as a postseason performer. Then he came to Atlanta and stunk up the joint. I think it's more a matter of getting the guys we have to perform under pressure. Chipper's had some good postseasons in the past, but the last 2 he's struggled. Giles had been good in the playoffs until this year. Andruw had probably his best postseason ever this year. We just have to find a way to get everybody going at the same time.

As for pitchers, I think Milwaukee has Sheets locked up for a few years. Benson's a free agent though, and no doubt the Braves will have interest (he's from GA, and the Braves have pursed him in the past). Kevin Millwood's also a free agent, I wouldn't be shocked if the Braves brought him back. I'm sure they think Leo could "fix" him. His price-tag might be a little too steep, though.

I thought Sheets was going for possible arbitration or something. I dont know. We will have Ramirez coming back, he woulda helped out this series, dontcha think?! Heh. Ortiz is as good as gone...I wouldnt mind having Millwood back, but only if they bring down the price. Since he didnt have a great season this year, he might not ask for a lot.

I thought Sheets was going for possible arbitration or something. I dont know. We will have Ramirez coming back, he woulda helped out this series, dontcha think?! Heh. Ortiz is as good as gone...I wouldnt mind having Millwood back, but only if they bring down the price. Since he didnt have a great season this year, he might not ask for a lot.

There's actually a small part of me that's glad that 2 pros like Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio are finally going to advance in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the rest of me is pissed that my team keeps tanking in the %$#@ing playoffs!

You'd think I'd be used to it by now, but one thing never changes: Losing blows.


Hey, the Astros are the better team, without a doubt. The 2 Braves' wins were nailbiters, while the Astros dominated the other 3. Tip your cap, the better team won. And the Astros will be a tougher test for St. Louis than the Braves would have been.


I've been pretty hard on the Braves, but they had a very good year. No one expected them to make it this far. But that doesn't mean I have to like losing. It still really, really sucks.

Ahh, it was a great year.

No complaints, but I reallly wish we would've been able to come through when runners were on base and we needed the runs most..

Can't say anything but good luck to the 'Stros, who played a heck of a series on the offensive side of things..

Well the Yankees are up 2-0 in the top of the 3rd. I got home from work just now, so I dont know how theyve scored or how its looked for either team....

Another offensive battle going down in St. Louis tonight. Pujols just nailed one to give the Cards a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the 8th.

EDIT: Scott Rolen launches one. Back to Back HR's. 6-4 Cardinals.
