Apparently the talk is that James Shields would go to Boston in return. That should be interesting if it materializes.


Good news about Harvey though, I thought Alderson and company were being silly not disclosing the issue he was going through but they were wise to keep it quiet as i'm sure that'd be played up huge in the NY tabloid press.


As for the Jays releases, I expected Choate to be gone but am a little surprised by Delabar. I'm guessing this opens up room for Pat Venditte to make the opening day roster.

Holy cow!

I received my copy of MLB: The Show and looked at our roster. A few things of note:

1) Tons of lefties...all but one "likely" starter (Aybar) can even hit on the right side.
2) We have no starting pitching. Teheran came on and looked good in September of last year but the rest are green or in the case of Bud Norris, past their prime.
3) If we don't lose 100 games, it'll be a miracle itself. It's not good to have Kelly Johnson as your 5-hole hitter and your 2nd best pitcher to be Wisler, a kid with a 1.46 WHIP and 5.10 FIP.

Gonna be a long season.

San Diego is just a depressing sports town...such a shame...just so much bad management. I used to pull for the Chargers when they were having success.

SD vs Cleveland....I don't know which is worse.

Reds have 2 titles in the past 25 years...Bengals have made Super Bowls and Playoffs...

Chargers, Padres? 1SB, 2WS appearances...

Indians, Browns, Cavs? 1WS, no NFL championship since the 50s, and 1 NBAF appearance.

Yes, Cincy is bad, but it's got nothing on those two.

While there are other major sports cities that have not seen title success in several years, the owners in SD and Cleveland seem to be trolling their bases.

I was talking more as a destination. Definitely have had better teams can't argue with that. Also Cavs have had 2 or 3 finals appearances.

Aw man, Pat Venditte didn't make the opening day roster Oh well, i'm sure he'll be called up at some point.


BTW for anyone who cares about Drew Storen and his issues when not in the closer role well, Osuna got the nod as the closer for the Jays to start the season.
