I just finished reading it and at the end where Michael Lewis is following up on Jeremy Brown he tells a story about how he hit a homerun but though it was a liner to the gaps and thought he was going to get a triple and fell down hard...i was wondering did this really happen or was this some kind of metaphoric thingy(??)

Re: Question about Moneyball
I was thinking that he probably embelished it a bit, but I don't doubt it happened. -

Re: Question about Moneyball
The story is true.
BTW Micheal Lewis is currently preparing to write Underdogs which is a follow up to Moneyball. He said it will be released in 2007 at the earliest. He's spent a lot time following the picks from the initial moneyball draft. He was in Toronto when Swisher debuted.
The one thing that frustrates Lewis is that some people don't get the book. Moneyball isn't just about a high OBP and OPSComment

Re: Question about Moneyball
What I don't like is how when Moneyball came out a lot of people were saying it was Beane's book or a book about him when that is incorrect. He points this out with Joe Morgan's comments about the book in his follow-up.
Moneyball was a very good read but I'm not so sure I am at all interested in a sequel of sorts. What more can be said other than what happened to these young players who were drafted? We see whats happening with them right now.Comment
