Had it been a regular season game it could have been stopped and then resumed the next day but post season games go untili its over. 5 innings or 35 innings it does not end until the winning run crosses the plate or the final out is made in the bottom of the inning. Same for weather, the Cards and Stros would have been postponed had it been in summer but the post season made sure that game got in. The Sox-Yanks would have played Fri but there was no relief in sight from the rain and it was supposed to get worse.

This is how I understand it as well.

Would an NFL game get called for "lateness" in the playoffs? Even with 3 OT's?

What about an NBA game? 6 OT's and they'll just "pack it in?"

Use common sense people.... HEAVY Rain is considered an "adverse condition" in baseball. Time, however, is not.

I believe the longest baseball game ever is 26 innings...?

Also in baseball you are eventually going to run out of pitchers. And when that happens runs are going to be scored and one team is going to win.

I dont care about length of innings or how many OT's, I want to know if they've ever played into sunrise, or near there. I mean theres gotta be a limit somewhere.
