It was a good pitch and was exactly where the scouting report says you pitch to ortiz with 2 strikes. I just think he knew it was coming and was able to get his hands in enough to make contact. He'll strike out on that pitch more often than not but did the smart thing and just tried to make contact.

at least if a team had to lose a game, they lost it that way, not like in '99 where Kenny "Ball Four" Rogers (Mets) lost the game to the Braves.. walking in the winning run..

I know that the Sox bullpen is messed up right now so you might as well put in the knuckleball guy and hope for the best.

The one thing that is bothering me about the Yanks, why in the world don't they walk Ortiz? The man is just clutch right now. Either way it's gonna be one hell of a wild ride.
you can say the same about the Yankees Pen, there messed up to. Rivera has been getting hit, Boston could feed of that like crazy, if they do look out.

yea, it seems like whoevers starter can go longer has a significant advantage in game 6.

The home plate ump was Jeff Kellogg...who IMO is not one of the better umps in the league. The werid things is 2 of the top ups in the league are on this crew.... John Hirschbeck and Jeff Nelson.

John Hirshbeck had a great game 1 or 2 if I remember correctly.

Hirschbeck did game 3. No wonder you thought he had a great game.

So far the umps have been:
                        Game 1 - Randy Marsh
                        Game 2 - Jeff Nelson
                        Game 3 - John Hircshbeck
                        Game 4 - Jim Joyce
                        Game 5 - Jeff Kellogg

                        Tonight will be Joe West.

somebody needs to tell curt, this series is not about him...

you dont hold a press conference interview, when you had no impact on the game

Its customary for playoff starters to hold a press conference the day before they start. Pedro refuses to do this but Schilling always does.
