That sounds good in theory, but where's he gonna play? I can't see him going anywhere but 1B, and Rizzo isn't moving to another position anytime soon.

Even with all the depth, the loss of Schwarber is huge. It's hard to replicate what he can do at the plate. Hopefully he can come back from this and be the same player. Just devastating news.

Yeah, the only other option is catcher and who knows how possible that is. The Cubs better pray the DH rule comes to the NL sooner than later. Schwarber is tailor made for that.

I was hoping for a DH spot before Schwarber got hurt, just for him. I doubt it comes anytime soon though. (That's a discussion for a different day lol)

Rizzo could probably play left field just about as good as Schwarber, but Schwarber couldn't manage what Rizzo can do at 1B so it really wouldn't be worth the move.

Any way you look at it, it's a bad deal for Schwarber. He's gonna be out a while and his defensive ability and situation got much murkier.

Schwarber wasn't a real catcher before this injury (a catcher in name only) and he won't be a catcher after it. He will go back to the outfield, get more experience and hope to not have bad luck again.

This really sucks. Schwarber is so much fun. Schwarber was a long ways from being a defensive C but he was making improvements. He'll probably more than likely just be an OF now and if you watched anything other than the NLCS he's more than passable there given what he provides at the plate.

I instantly felt nauseous after getting the notification that Schwarb was out for the year.

Feel awful for the guy, and I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Yep, he was just a CINO anyway at this point. He'll be ok.

Trevor Story hit 2 more HRs today.

                              Cool story bro.

No pun intended. I mean, I'll take it, but I probably would have said "Cool story bro." at the end of that post regardless of what his name is.

I haven't seen a Cardinals team play this poor of defense in a long, long time.
