Phillies beat the Mets 1-0. Great pitching all around tonight. Bullpen came through.

Speaking of Velasquez, Ken Giles finally got a 1-2-3 inning after a very rough start to the season.
Astros lead, 6-4, going to the 9th.Comment

Re: 4/3 - 4/17 Game Discussion Thread
The Chase Utley rule only allows umpires to review the play.
The slides in question were already against the rules.
MLB didn't add a new sliding rule this year. They only added the ability to review slides at second base."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

So I feel like I'll get to use this quite a bit this year:
I really thought this team would be better than last year's...very wrong so far."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers HornsbyComment

Ian Kennedy looked nasty tonight. Really wish the Yanks had seen his potential over Hughes."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied.
