Peter Bourjos may have saved this game with that catch. Wow.

Phillies beat the Mets 1-0. Great pitching all around tonight. Bullpen came through.

Speaking of Velasquez, Ken Giles finally got a 1-2-3 inning after a very rough start to the season.

Astros lead, 6-4, going to the 9th.

The Chase Utley rule only allows umpires to review the play.

The slides in question were already against the rules.

MLB didn't add a new sliding rule this year. They only added the ability to review slides at second base.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

So I feel like I'll get to use this quite a bit this year:

I really thought this team would be better than last year's...very wrong so far.

They altered the definition of a legal slide, too.

Ian Kennedy looked nasty tonight. Really wish the Yanks had seen his potential over Hughes.

De La Rosa was atrocious tonight. Couldn't find the strike zone, then got smashed when he did. And the bullpen wasn't any better. Weiss left Gurka out there to die.

Mostly they explained it better with the bona-fide slide definition. But I think we are entering a semantics debate if we go further.
