Full count. Probably felt it made him more comfortable.

I think it looks bad because Ellsbury successfully stole the base but if he doesn't do it, no one cares that Moore pitched from the windup.

I can see that...and it was more a great play by Ellsbury than a poor one by Moore, but it is still really odd to see a lefty who can't see the runner going through a full wind up with a runner on 3rd.

        @ SF

Yeah, The Fred is having a rough go of it so far this year. I think part of Freddie's problem is that pitchers know he's the only threat so they're not giving him anything to hit. It's on him to figure out how to counter what they're doing to him but he's not going to get any lineup help at all this year.

He's missing fastballs right down the middle. The pitch he struck out on in the 9th was a 97 mph right down the middle...just couldn't get around.

That's what I'm wondering....he has said he doesn't have the bat speed he's used to and doesn't know why. I'm worried that he has lingering effects and he may not be the same, at least for a while anyway.

I read this comment on the AJC:

All those past hugs with Uggla came with a price. It seems that Freeman has been infected with Danny's disease.
I think it's just going to take a few more weeks to get the strength back in his wrist. The main thing is that he's healthy -- I'm sure he'll figure it out.

Really impressed with Blake Snell...makes his debut at Yankee Stadium and pitched like a vet. Hopefully we stays healthy and gives the Rays a lot of good years.

Two straight games where the Jays offense has been productive....Maybe, just maybe they're getting out of that early season funk.

Tanaka pitches well and yet the offense is absent.

Do you have any idea why Donaldson was hit (it was pretty blatant) and the only thing I can think of was he said something when Phegley stepped on his foot.

Just such a strange back and forth and with this game getting out of hand who knows what could happen.

Not sure why either but that is as good a guess as any. Thankfully the A's aren't in the Jays division or this could carry over. The Blue Jays can be a pretty chippy team sometimes.

It was just strange, I know most of these A's are pretty new but Donaldson still has nothing but great things to say about his time in Oakland so it seems like a strange sequence.
