    5/2 - 5/15 Game Discussion Thread

Have barely watched any baseball this past week but now that craziness with my bro's wedding is over, I hope to get back into things.

Phillies sitting at 15-10 and in the midst of a 6 game winning streak and winning 9 of their last 10. Four game set with the Cardinals this week who just got swept by the Nationals. Hope their slump continues the next four days. Hellickson vs. Wainwright tonight.

Sox sit 15-10 atop the AL East. Can't complain with that. And 8-2 over our last 10 games. Things are starting to come together.

Wainwright puts his mighty 1-3 record and 7.16 ERA on the line tonight against the Phillies.

        Can we stop the streak?

As bad as some things have been for the Jays so far this season they're remarkably only 2 games below .500 and have a 4 game set against the Rangers at home which may re-ignite their competitive fire I hope. The Dodgers come to town over the weekend then they go on the road to San Fran and finish off in Tex over this next two weeks. This could be a real rough 2 week stretch for the Jays. In fact, with the parity in baseball these days there really isn't that much of an easy opponent to help get a team out of a slump.

Anywho, I look forward to hopefully seeing Kershaw and Mad Bum.

Damn, J.J. Hardy broke his foot fouling that ball off yesterday. Didn't really look bad, but still out 4-6 weeks. Sucks for Baltimore.

I read 2 months on a timetable for his return.

Yeah, the consensus seems to be anywhere from 4-8 weeks.

Why did the Braves call up Foltynewicz and think he should start tonight?

Because he's done reasonably well at AAA and has to be better than Norris? Why not give him another shot?

I don't know how he has to be better than Norris. If that 1st inning is any indication then he is worse.

Rizzo ties it up at 1 with a RBI 2B.

I just got home, so I missed the first inning. But Folty at least has upside. Norris is just done.

Was just scrolling through FB and saw this posted by TSN: Entering Monday’s series opener against the Rangers, the Toronto Blue Jays had yet to win a game in which the opposition had scored more than three runs.
