what do the Chowder Heads need to do this off-season to bounce back next year?

I'm pretty sure Pedro, Varitek, and Cabrera will be back. I expect Williamson and Lowe to be goners.

I'm thinking the Red Sox should add another proven bullpen arm and a good Defensive OF. They should shop around one of their current OF's not named ManRam.

Ah who the hell am I kidding ... all the moves in the world ain't going put the Chowder Heads over the Yanks!

they are a pretty solid team though. Thats the problem. Maybe they could pick up another starter or 2b like jeff kent. As for the yanks, all they need is pitching, a cf, and possibly a rf in case sheffield decides to retire.

Well unlike the Hawks the Yanks are proven winners. Trust me they won't choke away the series with a 2 game lead.

But for the sake of entertainment I want the series to go to Game 7 but even that's unlikely.

There is a reason why they play the whole series out. It's a best of 7 not best of 3. Yankees look like they are in control but that could change espically with the series heading back to Boston.

It looks good for New York but I wouldn't consider it an absolute lock.

Sheffield isn't going to retire.

The Yankees need 2-3 new starters, some left-handed relievers, and a CF.

I have a feeling that this is the BoSox last really great year. The pitching is starting to get old and while they've got great hitters I think the losing to the Yanks will finally get to them. They don't have your typical power hitter types so they could decline a lot quicker.

The Sox will never spend as much money as the Yanks so while they may get some great FAs they're going to cut back on payroll a bit. '05 may be a great year for Baltimore or Toronto (I hope) to make a run at 2nd place.
