Scooter? I don't need someone to explain to me what a curveball is. That's just insulting. You explain the basics of Extreme Dodgeball, not baseball.

And what's up with them blasting rap music before the commercials? They were playing that same "Let's get it started" song from the NBA playoffs.

Apparently Fox is broadcasting towards the casual viewer, which would make since, because nobody really follows baseball in America.

Some of us watch baseball but dont know what everything is. I cant look and tell the difference in between a regular fastball and a splitter. I dont mind that part, now in football I know most stuff, so you gotta look at it from the other side too.

BUT, I will state that no matter how many special FX Fox adds, I thank God I dont have to listen to that weasel Bob Costas doing play-by-play. So all is well with me.

I agree that they have to give some info towards the casual fan in regards to pitch types etc, but they could find a better way to do it than "scooter."

I was a pitcher in HS and College and while I know the differenc between all the pitches and how they move I'd much rather see a pitcher show the grips for a certain pitch and then show how them in a real example.

Something like - If they wanted to show a cutter, show the grip and then show Rivera throwing one and the effect it has on a hitter. If they wanted to show a sinker, show the grip and then show Lowe throwing one and the effects.

Something like that would be better than "scooter" IMO.
