At least we can both be pissed off at the Royals as they did the same to Toronto last year.

Ron Darling's analysis on pitching ain't bad. I'm actually enjoying this Mets game.

Just thinking if Ortiz retires and Joey Bats leaves in free agency, it'll feel like a very different AL East. Papi especially, he's like the last member of the rivalry on the Red Sox. When A-Rod goes we'll have teams that have never experienced that animosity the same way.

I was thinking about that, the AL East will definitely be very weird depending on how things go. The constant whispers about Encarnacion going to Boston worry me and the Jays may not pony up for Bautista.

I keep hearing Joey Bats or Encarnacion to Boston as Ortiz replacement. No way Toronto can afford both, right?

I don't know their front office like SPTO would, but I don't think they can. They're owned by Rogers, so they have a ton of money, how they choose to spend it I guess is the question. But Bautista particularly with all of the talk of him as an asset comes of as a Greinke (**** you, pay me) type who's going to take the biggest check. I have no issues with that btw, just what I think. And I don't know if they'd want to go all the way up in having to outbid someone.

Phillies acquired Jimmy Paredes from the Blue Jays for cash. I knew they would get him as soon as he was DFA'd. Will take all the outfield help we can get at this point.

I would love Edwin as our DH for the next 2 seasons. Would be a great replacement for Ortiz in our lineup, though I would prefer a lefty.

                  Mookie RF
                  Bradley JR CF
                  Encarnacion DH
                  Xander SS
                  Shaw 3B
                  Pedroia 2B
                  Ramirez 1B
                  Left fielder (Benintendi?)
                  Vazquez C

Probably can do the lineup many different ways just totally spit balling.

Well he was benched before his injury, so eat the money and release him.

Have him dress up as Wally for the remainder of the contract. Should give us two years before he out eats the suit.

There we go. Perfect job, though not super sure if he can even fit in there now...

I don't think the current management team can survive another PR disaster that we saw last offseason. They will definitely make offers to both Bautista and Encarnacion. They've made it clear in numerous articles that they want to keep both but I don't see it being feasible.

If i'm Toronto though i'd focus most of my energies on Encarnacion as Bautista is still very productive but we're starting to see the ravages of time starting to tug at him to the point that any contract he signs would look REALLY bad in a couple years.
