Blue Jays are close to acquiring Jason "Grill Cheese" Grilli for a minor league pitching prospect. The deal is pending approval from the Commissioner's office due to the Braves paying a large portion of Grilli's contract.

He has struggled a bit this year but for the most part he's been pretty successful and maybe pitching for a team that still sees themselves as a contender might give him a boost.

I like the trade on paper at least.

Astros win again, 7-1 in their last 8. They play the next 2 at home against Arizona, before the A's come to town for 3. If they're going to make a push to get back in it, now's as good a chance as any.

I guess I assumed Tom was Tom Brady and that the other two were also affiliated with the Patriots. I take it they are the owners of Pawtucket then?

Yea it's Tom Werner, Larry Lucchino and John Henry. The owners of the Red Sox and Pawtucket team.
