This wasn't the first time, btw, the Yankees had to rebuild. After their period of dominance from 1921-1964 the Yankees were AWFUL from 1965 to 1976....
You kind of forgot the acquisitions of guys like Cone, Wells, Paul O'Neill, Tino Martinez, etc who were every bit as important to the run and without whom it wouldn't have happened. Not to mention late add-ons like Mussina and Clemens.

No doubt, but the core of the rebuild was built through the farm system...you hear the core four of Jeter, Posada, Rivera, and Pettitte for a reason. To have FOUR players come out of your system that put up HOF or near HOF performance for nearly 20 years is pretty unreal.

Factitious? Maybe you meant facetious. Either way, no nothing is ever obvious with you.

Fantasy question for SPTO or whomever, Sanchez worth anything after he moves to the pen? Is he gonna be in the back end at all and get a chance for holds at least?

True...although I do think the Braves' 4 of Glavine, Chipper, Andruw Jones, and Javy Lopez was pretty good.

Phillies gave Zach Eflin 6 runs and he just gave it all back. Unreal.

Charlie Tilson just got hit by a sniper.

Unfortunately it's not very funny. Looks like he just hyperextended his knee or something.

Charlie Tilson just destroyed his entire left leg....blehhh...it was kinda nasty. It was his big league debut too. Sox just got him from StL for Zach Duke. The Sox have had a couple guys get hurt in their first game with the big club this year....its a bad year to debut for the White Sox

Phillies 1-2-3 hitters tonight are 8-9 with 2 home runs, 6 RBI and 5 runs. Clutch.

Balkin' Bob Davidson just tried to eject a rowdy fan in the Giants-Phillies game. I've never seen that before.

                                EDIT: It worked.
