Unfortunately, the pitchers not so much.

I don't know how an umpire can eject a paying fan. I could see the stadium management doing it, but I don't think an umpire has that kind of authoriti.

I've seen umpires do it on a handful occasions over the years...heck, it happened to a fan that was a few seats away from me sitting behind home plate. I believe your ticket stub has small print that mentions you could be thrown out...

Yep it does, it's the same thing as fan interference. Like when Jeffrey Maier reached over the wall to catch that home run or when reaches for a ball that rolls down the line and stays fair.

You just made a lot of Orioles fans cry... haha.

By the way, he goes by Jeff Maier now. Not mentioned in that thread ever, but did you know that the Yankees invited him to try out? Never got drafted, but what a nice favor in return!

That Phillies fan was chanting "you suck" at Bob Davidson. Also Gary Sanchez got called up by the Yankees.

Did they mention that? I was going to go to MLB.TV after the game and catch the "natural sounds" or whatever, then jack up the volume and see if I could hear what he was saying.

He was chirping for a long, long time. There was even a lady in the first couple of innings who sounded like she was singing. They were both kind of annoying. Good thing the lady probably wasn't large, otherwise the Phils would have had this one in the bag early.

The lady you heard singing was actually a Cracker Jack and peanuts vendor. A hugely popular vendor at that. She is very loud but super entertaining.

Also, Dodgers officially optioned Yasiel Puig to Triple-A.

I saw a tweet from Meghan Montemurro via Keith Law that said the fan was yelling you suck at Davidson. And going to her twitter page, here's a video.

This is why I wanted to see Aaron Altherr start the season with the Phils. He showed a lot of promise at the end of last season. Plus he's part gazelle.

Phillies 1-2-3 hitters are now 11-14 with 2 home runs, 9 RBI and 7 runs tonight. Franco and Altherr having a hell of a night.

And Cameron Rupp just hit a 3-run bomb to give the Phillies a 13-8 lead! What a game!

Unreal. They need to sacrifice 7 virgins and 7 packages of Big League Chew quickly to the baseball DL gods. This is getting absurd. This is the third player this season to get hurt in his MLB debut while wearing a White Sox uniform.

Fantastic debut from Joe Musgrove for Houston. He pitched 4.1 innings of 1-hit, shutout ball while striking out 8 and walking 1.

The 8 Ks is a new club record for a reliever in their debut and it tied the MLB record set by Barry Jones with the White Sox in 1986.

                                Toronto wins though, 2-1.
