Sandy Leon is the greatest catcher of all time. That is not up for debate either.

I'm not even basing it off his pure numbers thus far, I'm basing it on his much improved plate discipline. He's crushing pitches that he would have missed the last couple seasons, and laying off pitches he would have hopelessly chased previously. As well as taking a lot more pitches till he get's one he can do something with. His K's are down and walks are up. He didn't magically start this trend after his call up. He's been doing it all season in AAA.

To be fair, a .260 w/30 homers and GG defense projection is pretty conservative. I mean that's about what an average catcher like Johnny Bench did.

Yeah, he hit 101 on the gun, making Trout, Pujols, and Simmons look foolish. But it's not his heater that impresses me the most, it's his unhittable slider that I'm most impressed by. A tight 88 MPH slider after a 101 MPH fastball should be illegal. This kid reminds me so much of Craig Kimbrel it's not even funny. Diaz will be have a shot at being the best closer in baseball in the near future If he keeps it all together.

              Your point?

My point was that is his cieling. He definitely has 30 HR capability, hell he hit 21 in a year where he hit under .200. And had ZERO understanding of the strike zone and almost no plate discipline. He's appears to have turned a huge corner on both those fronts. Logic dictates, take more pitches + put ball in play more + less K's = More hits and a higher average. He's not a sub .200 hitter anymore at the very least.

That putting a Johnny Bench projection on a guy with a .195 career average over 1100 career plate appearances is a bit aggressive. Just slightly.

I can't get over how much I love Josh Donaldson lol, I say it in here all the time. Dude is just a baseball player, if you don't like him then I don't like you. Trainer hands him the towel and he just throws it away like "get that baby **** away from me".

Love the A's, not a fan of those Cubs throwbacks. They look like pajamas.

This is reminiscent of the Mariners will win multiple World Series in the next 3 years and Dustin Ackley will be the best 2B in the league thread. Must be something in the water Mariners fans drink.

Well, they would have if they hadn't traded multiple CY winner Michael Pineda. That is what derailed the plan...but now that they have Taijuan Walker they are getting back on track.

Don't forget they have the next Craig Kimbrell and a gold glove defending 30 bomb catcher as well. They are set.

I don't appreciate your condescending tone. For one, Zunino does have 30 HR power, for two Diaz is the best young RP in baseball, and he does remind me of Kimbrel, hell the Red Sox announcers even said it them selves. For three Walker is a very good young pitcher, having a solid season, and is only 23, will only get better, and he returns from the DL today. For four, I never mentioned Pineda. For five, I hated the Ackley pick in 09, I knew he would be a bum, I wanted us to draft Mike Trout, I had Trout 2nd behind Strasberg in my rankings that year.
