    Re: 8/8 - 8/21 Game Discussion Thread

Francisco Mejia's hit streak is still ongoing: 48 games. He got the night off yesterday (so Sicnarf Loopstok could play, lol), but I hope Mejia gets to 50+. I know the media would rather talk about Tim Tebow, but this is an actual, legitimate accomplishment at any level of professional baseball.

EDIT: An incredible thing that I noticed just now when looking over Mejia's game logs...he actually got promoted from A to A+ part way through his streak and it hasn't fazed him.

And yet Girardi has no problem starting Hicks every damn game.

A-Fraud deserves every bit of cynicism, and heartache he receives. I hope he never gets in the Hall of Fame, and if he somehow does, I hope it's as a Yankee, and that no past Hall of Famer shows up to be part of the ceremony.

For the most part, the Marlins are a real quiet playoff contender in a lot of ways. It reminds me of other Marlins playoff runs where no one thought they'd do anything and they end up winning it all (more particular the '03 run)

Anywho, I'd like to see the Marlins in a wild card whether it be the 1st or 2nd one.

Well by that logic your boy Nelson Cruz is a fraud too.

Who said he's my boy? He just plays for my team, plus his situation was a 1 time mistake. A-Fraud has been juicing his entire career. The juice is what made him who he was. Huge difference there.

I think their just one more really good sp away by being extremely dangerous. Cashner helps though. But if they had a real 1-2 punch in that rotation. Man..

If you think Arod was only good because of steroids then we can just move on, because that's ridiculous.

honestly I don't get it. He was absolutely awful in the NL after coming from the AL it's usually the other way around.

Well, it's an extremely small sample size so far, but he was painting like Picasso last night, maybe he's just happy to be home. He's always been solid for the Yankees though.

So if you were at a job you loved, and someone offered you BOATLOADS more to do the same job in a different city, you'd say no?

Also, you said he's juiced his whole career, so are you now saying that 1995 is tainted?
